The campus community is invited to take part in four open forums with thefinalists for the dean of the College of Musicpositionon Sept. 25, Sept. 29, Oct. 1 and Oct. 2.

“I’m delighted to welcome these outstanding candidates to campus and host the opportunity forthem to audition for us,” said Russ Moore, provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs. “It would be my honor for any one of them to serve as our next dean of the College of Music.”

Valerie Martin, vice provost and dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Susquehanna University, will lead an open forum with the community from
3 to 3:45 p.m. onFriday, Sept. 25.

Gabriel Solis, head of the Department of Theatre at the University of Illinois at Urbana, will lead an open forum with the community from
11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. onTuesday, Sept. 29.

11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. onThursday, Oct. 1.

Jeffrey Pappas, director of the School of Music at the University of Tennessee, will lead an open forum with the community from
3 to 3:45 p.m. onFriday,Oct. 2.

All community forums will be conducted virtually via Zoom, and registration is required. The four finalists will also each meet in sessions with College of Music undergraduate and graduate students; faculty; staff; advancement personnel; associate deans and department chairs; the provost; and the search committee.

Following each campus forum, members of the community will have the opportunity to submit formal input for each candidate via a web survey that attendees will receive at the forums or will be able to access via thesearch committee webpage.

Moore welcomes additional feedback on the finalists atvcaa@colorado.edufrom Saturday, Oct. 3, through Wednesday, Oct. 7. Moore will review all feedback and is expected to invite the top candidates for additional interviews with campus leadership. His goal is to name a new dean by the end of the fall semester.

The dean is the chief administrative officer of the College of Music and a member of the provost’s leadership team, providing leadership, vision and management for the college. The post also collaborates with faculty, staff and campus leadership to advance CU «Ƶ’s goals and mission.
