Provost search opens; nominations and applications encouraged
CU «Ƶ Chancellor Justin Schwartz announced today that the search for the next provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs is open. Interested candidates are invited to submit their application materials by Feb. 28.

“We are seeking an innovative, collaborative, engaged and empathic leader with a deep commitment to public higher education and the tenets of shared governance to serve as our next provost,” Schwartz said. “We also need a leader who is committed to CU «Ƶ’s mission and has a history of facilitating and advancing excellence.”
Inquiries, applications, nominations and self-nominations should be made directly through the , the executive search firm engaged to assist in the search process.
The provost fosters CU «Ƶ’s excellence in research, creative work and teaching through forging new academic initiatives and recruiting and retaining a world-class faculty, as well as ensuring rigorous review of key faculty personnel actions. The provost also has oversight of the planning, quality and delivery of education to CU «Ƶ’s undergraduate and graduate students, ensuring a holistic, inclusive integration of academic and student affairs that supports the intellectual, personal and professional development of all students.
In today’s announcement, the chancellor also thanked students, faculty and staff who participated in the listening sessions in December, which helped to inform the position profile for the next provost.
Finalists will visit campus in the spring semester. The chancellor plans to have a new provost in position by July 1, 2025.
