LumenAstra, a Colorado corporation founded in 2020, is commercializing an exciting University of Colorado patent for a non-invasive, wearable sensor for measuring core body temperatures several inches below the skin, wherever it is placed. Enthusiastic responses from customer discovery have confirmed 20 impactful applications including: early warning of deadly heat stress for soldiers and athletes, warning of elevated brain temperatures in the critical hours after cardiac arrest, stroke or brain trauma, monitoring fertility windows and many more. LumenAstra and the Radio Frequency Lab at CU was co-awarded the $125K first prize in the recent Lab Venture Challenge and together, they have raised $1.1M in non-diluting grants in the last 12 months. The company is currently looking to raise $1M in 2022 in an Angel seed round.
