LongPath Technologies was co-founded by Greg Rieker (CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Paul M. Rady Mechanical Engineering and ) to address the growing need for effective methane detection solutions in the oil and gas industry. By leveraging cutting-edge laser-based technology developed at CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ and NIST, LongPath has transformed methane monitoring with its ability to detect emissions over long distances and in real-time. Through active participation in various Venture Partners at CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ programs, LongPath refined its value proposition and secured crucial funding, including support from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Department of Energy (DOE). In 2023, LongPath's innovative approach was recognized as they expanded their technology's deployment across multiple states, helping to significantly reduce methane emissions and contributing to a cleaner environment.
