Minor in Materials Science and Engineering

Our students are well-prepared to solve complex problems by applying principles of engineering, science and mathematics.

The undergraduate minor in materials science and engineering provides students with a foundation of engineering, science and mathematics to address challenges that impact public health, safety and welfare. Though open to all undergraduate students, this program is designed for students majoring in natural sciences or engineering.

Academic Plan & Requirements

The minor in materials science and engineering is open to all interested students but most complements natural sciences or engineering majors. The minor requires a total of 18 credit hours of materials science coursework, 12 of which must be at the upper-division level.
