Major upgrades to the CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Aerospace Manufacturing Shops
The Smead Aerospace manufacturing shops have made major upgrades to kickoff the 2019-2020 academic year.
Enrollment has more than doubled in the last ten years, but space constraints in the Engineering Center prevented significant expansion of the department's footprint to accommodate that growth or to add new machining and production capabilities.
The move this summer into the new, dedicated Aerospace Building with large machine shop spaces has made it possible to both expand capacity and add the latest in manufacturing technology. This will open up new opportunities for student projects and professional manufacturing for centers like BioServe Space Technologies.
