Mark Hernandez and team awarded $125K in Lab Venture Challenge
Professor Mark Hernandez, his former PhD student Emmalee Biesiada and colleague Steve Hughes were among five winning teams Ìýof ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ faculty, researchers and graduate student innovators awarded $125,000 in this year’s Lab Venture Challenge (LVC) in the biosciences category. Their company is developing Peroxide Enhanced Germicidal Irradiation (PEGI) for rapid, low-resource sterilization of microbial contaminants.
