- Briana Santa Ana (CivEngr'20)Â was presented with the 2024Â Alumni Engagement Medal award for organizing the Construction Diversity Summit, which took place in April 2022 with nearly 200 attendees.
- On April 19, Professor Amir Behzadan, of CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering, hosted a workshop where participants were introduced to human-centered AI applications in disaster management and encouraged to work toward ways to adopt AI-informed solutions.
- Civil engineering major Gabrielle Dunn’s dedication to academic, personal and professional development, as well as to support her peers, has earned her the 2024 Outstanding Undergraduate of the College award.
- Magnus Boee, a civil engineering graduate student and Division 1 athlete, excelled in Nordic skiing for the Colorado Buffalos. He earned both a BS and MS while training and competing. Boee represented South Korea in Nordic skiing at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, with sights set on the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
- Manjeet Pandey, a CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ civil engineering master's student, was named a 2024 ASCE New Face of Civil Engineering. After the 2015 Nepal earthquake, he led the construction of 21 community hospitals in his home country of Nepal and helped build 102 schools in Nepal and worldwide.
- Three seniors from the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering received Graduating Student Awards from the College of Engineering and Applied Science and shared their thoughts about their CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ experiences.
- Civil Engineering PhD Student Madeline Pernat received a 2024 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship for her research on large-scale water management in the Colorado River Basin.
- A team led by Environmental Engineering Professor Evan Thomas received a $650,000 NSF Convergence Accelerator grant to measure and mitigate pollution in Colorado's Cache la Poudre and Yampa Rivers through new sensor technology, monitoring and a voluntary carbon credits trading system with industry.
