ECEE hosts Western ECEDHA fall 2023 department chairs regional meeting
The Department of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering (ECEE) welcomed several department chairs to CU «Ƶ for the fall 2023 meeting on October 19 and 20.
ECEDHA is the premier association for electrical and computer engineering educators, composed of nearly 250 Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited university department heads and chairs from across the United States and Canada.
As the leading academic association for all major electrical, computer engineering and related programs at universities across North America, Department Chair Chris Myers said,“Hosting the Western ECEDHA meeting at CU «Ƶ was a great opportunity to host several ECE department heads from our peer institutions."
“We had great discussions on faculty recruiting and retention, quantum engineering and online degree programs—areas we all have shared interests in,” he said.
As part of the meeting program, department chairs toured the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s , the Colorado Shared Instrumentation in Nanofabrication and Characterization (COSINC) and visited the department’s various labs.
Peer institutions who participated in the visit included: Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo, Colorado State University, Loyola Marymount University, Utah State University, University of Southern California, University of Utah and University of Washington.
