Dr. C. Wyatt Shields IV is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering.Ìý
His group's research in soft matter and biotechnology is motivated 
bynew and emerging challenges in medicine. His laboratory is focused on developing "smart" particles that are responsive to, and ultimately controlled by, external stimuli for use as next-generation biosensors and drug delivery vehicles.ÌýÌý
What is your motto?
My motto is technically a poem: "If" by Rudyard Kipling. It's always been a source of inspiration. I keep a copy on my desk.Ìý

I'm generally pretty frugal, but my wife tells me that I spend too much on outdoor recreational equipment. Being a new Colorado resident, I want to try everything!

Documentaries and non-fiction reading. I've also really been into astronomy ever since I was a kid.Ìý

Don't take yourself too seriously.

Long jogs, hikes, bike rides or board games if I'm indoors.
