Kyle Freeman joined the Engineering Management Program in 2018. Prior to CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ, Kyle worked for Denver Public Schools in a variety of academic and administrative roles. He is working towards a degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ with the intention of becoming an audiologist.
What do you most like to do to unwind?
Make myself a fun new meal and afterwards sit down to work on my latest knitting project.
If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?
I would pick Michelle Obama. In today’s current climate, having someone to mentor you in how to be kind, gracious, and how to persevere despite any obstacle would be incredible.

Who would you most like to meet and why?
Bob the Drag Queen. Bob has greatly shaped how I view myself as a queer person, but also how to accept and care for those around me.

What have been some meaningful ways in which you have felt welcomed to CEAS?
I have been with CEAS for almost 5 years now and never once have I felt like I have had to hide who I am or be something different than my authentic self. Everyone – the Dean, faculty, staff, students – have made me feel accepted in our College and that is invaluable to me.
