EVEN Prof. Jason Ren named Director of Water-Energy Nexus by CEAS

The College of Engineering and Applied Science has announced a “Strategic Vision” to enrich the community, break through to new engineering solutions, and grow our role as a national leader in engineering education and research. An important part of the Vision includes creating a league of Interdisciplinary Research Themes, through which faculty and students from different engineering sectors will work together to create new opportunities, accelerate our positive impacts, and build on the strengths of the college.

Environmental Engineering Professor Z. Jason Ren has been named the director of Water-Energy Nexus theme. He will serve as the main contact for networking across disciplines and preparing for emerging research opportunities. In this field, Prof. Ren and his team will analyze impacts of the one of the world’s most relevant and long-term challenges, the nexus of water and energy. The goal of this theme is to bring together professionals and driven students from different areas of specialization to address the challenges associated with the water and energy nexus, including air quality, climate change, and food production.
