graphics relating lipid intermolecular forces to microbubble resonance and damping

New Langmuir Paper

Aug. 30, 2016

Congrats to Jordan Lum and Jake Dove for their paper entitled “ Single microbubble measurements of lipid monolayer viscoelastic properties for small amplitude oscillations .” This paper reports on theory and experiment relating lipid intermolecular forces to microbubble resonance and damping.

4 graphs about the metastability of superheated PFC droplets

New Paper: Adv Colloid & Interface Sci

Aug. 21, 2016

Congratulations to Dr. Paul Mountford on his comprehensive review On the Thermodynamics and Kinetics of Superheated Fluorocarbon Phase Change Agents . We provide an argument for the energy barrier to homogeneous nucleation as an explanation for the metastability of superheated PFC droplets used in ultrasonics.

New Langmuir Paper

April 11, 2016

This paper reports the outstanding work of Tim Segers, Michel Versluis and coworkers of the Physics of Fluids group at the University of Twente in the Netherlands . I was honored to play a small role on this watershed study, which successfully achieved high-production microfluidic generation of lipid-coated microbubbles. Surprising...

Congrats to Dr. Kang-Ho Song!

April 11, 2016

Kang-Ho Song successfully defended his PhD! He is finishing some work at NIH, but plans to attend the graduation ceremony in May. We look forward to giving him a proper send-off party!!!

Congrats to James Kwan

April 11, 2016

Congratulations to James Kwan on his new position as Assistant Professor of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at NTU Singapore .
