Welcome to CM2 Lab

  • We have 1 (or 2) open Ph.D. positions supported by TA/RA in the area of computational mechanics(as of Fall 2024)

We are Computational Multiscale & Multiphysics (CM2) Lab in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ.

Our major interests are investigating various multiscale and multiphysics problems, including, but not limited to: (i) establishing an integrated computational materials engineering (ICME) approach for desired mechanical properties and failure performances of the final product, (ii) first principles-based computational predictions of material behaviors in atomistic, quasi-continuum and continuum length scales, and (iii) computational predictions of material deterioration processes across different length scales subjected to multiphysics phenomena. We are also interested in understanding how various science, physics, mechanics and engineering problems are related (such as ) or unrelated (such as ).

In our research, we also focus on developing new computational analysis methods such as: (i) the extended finite element method (XFEM), (ii) the extended element-free Galerkin method (XEFGM), (iii) the extended particle difference method (EPDM), and (iv) the computational model reduction techniques to predict wide range of multiscale and multiphysics-induced engineering science problems.
