Istiakur Rahman started his PhD in Construction Engineering and Management in Fall 2023. He was raised in the coastal city of Chittagong, Bangladesh. He completed his MSc at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and his BSc at Islamic University of Technology (IUT).

Istiakur's passion lies in researching Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data, particularly focusing on satellite-based inspections for transportation asset management. His main goal is to enhance infrastructure maintenance strategies by utilizing cutting-edge technologies and promoting sustainability and efficiency in construction.

Outside of academia, Istiakur enjoys participating in various outdoor activities and sports, such as cricket, tennis, pickleball, and soccer. He also loves to explore new places through his travels, constantly seeking new experiences.
