Guggenheim Computing

Ken Erickson Spatial Data Analysis Lab (KESDA)
(GUGG Room 6)

There are 30 Computers in the lab (pictured above) which are managed by OIT. KESDA is available for general use when classes, seminars, or meetings aren't in session. The KESDA class schedule is posted at the start of the semester (GUGG 110), on this website (see right sidebar), and on the door to the lab. PCs are loaded with a wide array of software for word processing, spreadsheets, statistics, geostatistics, mapping, GIS, graphics, and web authoring.

Log in with your identikey and password. All data from your session is erased when you log out. Be sure to copy what you want to keep to your Google Drive or a flash drive.

Lounge (GUGG 101)

There are 4 computers managed by GEOG mostly for email and browsing, but they also have all the apps installed with the same configuration as the KESDA lab. Please be aware other meetings and events can be scheduled in the lounge, during which these PCs will not be available. Since these are shared computers, user data is erased after logoff. Therefore, it is important to backup your data to a thumb drive or cloud storage before logging off.

Department Laptops

Department laptops, projectors, and PC display dongles for meetings and class presentations for use by TAs and faculty are available for check-out. Please go to the Geography main office (GUGG 110) for an explanation of how to check out the equipment.
