Kris Richards, MBA, MS, BSN, RN

Kristina Richards, MBA, MS, RN, BSN, brings 15 years of diverse nursing experience, including 5 years in emergency department roles as a Registered Nurse, Charge Nurse, and Clinical Coordinator, followed by 7 years managing the second busiest emergency department in the state of Colorado. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Maine and a Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University.
Before transitioning into nursing, Kristina was a certified athletic trainer, working with collegiate athletic programs such as James Madison University Women’s Volleyball and Jacksonville University Volleyball and Softball. This experience provided her with a deep understanding of the college health population, fostering her ability to connect with and address the unique needs of this group.
Originally from New York City and raised on Long Island, Kristina is passionate about fostering a healthy workplace culture characterized by collaboration, inclusivity, and opportunities for employee growth and development. She is a strong advocate for innovation and embraces managing change as a critical pathway to improving care delivery and organizational success. She is committed to forward-thinking solutions for patients and staff alike.
Since joining Wardenburg Health Center a year and a half ago, Kristina has valued her work with the Clinical Services team. She looks forward to continuing to enhance collaboration between Medical Services, Health and Wellness teams, and the broader university community while driving innovation and supporting positive change.
