Dr. Imma Ferrer completed her Ph.D. on the development of LC-MS techniques for the detection of pesticides in environmental samples at the University of Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain) in 1999.Ìý Afterwards, she did a post-doc with the U.S. Geological Survey at the National Water Quality Laboratory in Denver, Colorado for 3 years, where she worked on tandem mass spectrometric techniques for the analysis of pharmaceuticals in the environment.Ìý She then worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Almeria for 5 years, where her main focus was the development of advanced LC-MS methodologies for the analysis of pesticides in food samples, specially the use of time-of-flight techniques using accurate mass identification.Ìý In 2008, she moved back to the U.S. where she is currently an Associate Research Scientist and one of the co-founders of the Center for Environmental Mass Spectrometry at the University of Colorado in ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ (USA).Ìý She has more than 20 years experience on developing methods for emerging contaminants using LC-MS techniques.Ìý She is author of more than 100 peer review papers and chapters (h factor = 48) and has co-edited 3 books on LC-MS and GC-MS applications for the analysis of organic contaminants in the environment.
