After Graduating
After graduating, Nick continued on in the group as a postdoctoral researcher. He also joined the experimental group of Professor Chunmei Ban in the Mechanical Engineering department to try and bring his calculations to life.
Research Bio
My research focuses on the development of advanced materials for critical energy conversion and storage technologies, including electrocatalysts for CO2 and nitrogen reduction, as well as beyond lithium-ion battery chemistries. I focus on the fundamental mechanistic understanding of reactions occurring at these interfaces to rationally tune materials chemistry to improve macroscopic materials properties. My work leverages state-of-the-art electrochemical modeling methods and close collaboration with leading researchers to impactfully investigate systems that are of key importance to transitioning society to a sustainable future.Â

Access to the outdoors was a major factor in deciding to move to ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ. I spend lots of my free time adventuring up 14ers like Longs Peak and bouldering in nearby areas like Estes Park and Flagstaff during the warmer months and snowboarding at local vacation-destinations such as Copper Mountain throughout the winter. I spend my weekends with close friends that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting while in Colorado and enjoy hosting dinner parties. I make delicious Saag and Korma and once homebrewed the best Radler west of the Mississippi. I also enjoy chess, gardening and bonsai.Â
