Music education
Welcome to music education at the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ College of Music!
Our experienced educators teach undergraduate and graduate courses that prepare students for a career in music education; combined with unique programs and opportunities for involvement, our music education program has resulted in 99% job placement for our graduates.
Upon observing professional music teachers during their sophomore year, our Bachelor of Music Education students engage in a semester of student teaching. Undergraduate majors graduate with a K-12 teaching license in one of four specialized degree tracks: choral, instrumental, choral-general or instrumental-general.
Graduate students have the option of taking after-school courses to accomodate full-time teaching schedules.
Music education majors also study with applied faculty on their major instrument, and perform in solo recitals and with a variety of ensembles. .
