Human Resources
Do you have outstanding student loans?

A message from Human Resources: Did you know that by working as faculty or staff at SPU you may be eligible for student loan forgiveness? SPU is a qualifying employer under the  and many of our employees have already benefited from this incredible opportunity. The PSLF program forgives the remaining balance on your direct loans after you’ve made 120 qualifying monthly payments under an approved repayment plan, all while working full time for an eligible employer like SPU. Even better, during the COVID-19 payment pause under the CARES Act, months in which payments were not required still count toward the 120 qualifying payments — meaning you could already have up to 41 qualifying payments, even if you weren’t actively making payments!

Don’t assume you’re ineligible — it’s worth taking a closer look. Investigate today to see if you qualify and take the first step toward significant loan forgiveness.
