This graduation ceremony marks a significant milestone in your life and we couldn't be prouder of all that you have accomplished. 2025 Spring Commencement Ceremony:

We will come together to recognize the many accomplishments of our graduates and mark their passage into the company of scholars at 8:30 a.m. MDT Thursday, May 8, 2025. The main commencement ceremony will be held at Folsom Field stadium. No tickets or registration are required.

Spring 2025 Recognition Ceremony (Master of Data Science Department Ceremony):

Date and time:

Friday, May 9th, 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM MST

Doors will open at 5:00 PM MST
Ceremony: 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM MST
Reception: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM MST

Recognition ceremony will be held at University Memorial Center (UMC) - Glenn Miller Ballroom. 
Reception to follow ceremony on UMC South Terrace.

Parking:

All campus parking lots, with exception of Lot 380 (located near Macky Auditorium), will be open on a space-available basis for public parking.  Parking on campus, including at parking meters and pay station lots, is not charged on recognition ceremony days (Thursday, May 9th, and Friday, May 10th). Important Dates:

March 1, 2024:  Last day for Graduate and MBA Students to submit or cancel a Spring 2024 graduation application in Buff Portal 
May 31, 2024:  Spring 2024 deadline for Undergraduate and Master's Students to update diploma name & address
June 26, 2023:  Spring 2024 diploma mailing begins 
July 3, 2023: Spring 2023 certificate mailing begins

Note:

When students apply online for graduation, their names go onto the graduation roster for the term they specify. Participation in graduation ceremonies is optional. If you are nearing graduation, be sure to work with your advisor to complete all degree requirements and the necessary Apply for Degree paperwork. (Only for on-campus graduate students)

Cap & Gown Infomation

Master's, Doctoral, and Law Students wear regalia purchased directly from .

Regalia for Master's students consists of a keepsake gown, hood, cap, and tassel: $48.60 (plus tax and shipping)
The deadline to  is Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.

Please note that gowns, hoods, and caps/tams are not rentals and are yours to keep.

Forever Buffs

You are a !  You are part of a family with 300,000 CU «Ƶ alumni and over 35,000 students who engage, contribute and celebrate CU.

Be sure to pick up your legacy cord if you have a family member who graduated from CU. As part of the Forever Buffs initiative, the CU «Ƶ Alumni Association has started a new tradition by providing “legacy cords” to graduating students whose family members are CU alumni.
