Language, Literature, and Culture Concentration (12-16 credits)

Learn a language at a high level and broaden your horizons as a globally adept engineer.

IDE students who wish to pursue the language, literature and culture concentration must already have fourth-semester-level proficiency in the chosen language. This may be demonstrated through a Foreign Language Assessment Test or by completing the equivalent of a fourth-semester CU course (e.g. SPAN2120 or SPAN2150).

The Language, Literature, and Culture Concentration will consist of one of the following sets of options. Students may not pick and choose from among the different languages.

Combined, many of these courses support the pursuit of a language minor.

  • 3-5 credits upper division grammar content
  • 3 credits upper division literary content
  • 3 credits upper division cultural content
  • 3-5 credits upper division literary, cultural, or additional language content
