Export Controls Training

Have you been instructed to take export controls training, or do you simply want to learn more about how export controls regulations affect you?


See below for instructions on how to access export controls related training opportunities.

  Note: If you are working on an export-controlled project and have been directed here by the Office of Export Controls, you must take the Skillsoft course to fulfill your training requirements.

  1. Login to your CU campus portal at 
  2. Click on the CU Resources tab (skip this step if you are using the System portal)
  3. Select TRAINING
  4. Select Start SkillSoft (SkillSoft will open in a separate window)
  5. Select Catalog
  6. Click University of Colorado - Courses
  7. Select Export Controls folder
  8. Select CU: Introduction to Export Controls and click [Launch]

  For new users:

Go to  and login with your CU Identikey and password. You will be prompted to confirm your account information and provide your Employee ID.

  1. When you have finished, a new page entitled “Select Curriculum – University of Colorado at «Ƶ”  will load. 
  2. Select the “Export Controls” checkbox, then click the Next button.
  3. The “Main Menu” page will load.  Click on the “CITI Export Controls Course” course title. 
  4. On the next screen, accept The Integrity Assurance Statement, and complete the course.  

   For users with an existing CITI account:

  1. Go to  and login with your CU Identikey and password. You may be prompted to confirm your CITI profile information and provide your Employee ID.
  2. The “Main Menu” page will load.  Expand the University of Colorado at «Ƶ Courses menu.  Under “My Learner Tools for University of Colorado at «Ƶ” click the “Add a Course or Update Learner Groups” link.
  3. A new page entitled “Select Curriculum – University of Colorado at «Ƶ”  will load. 
  4. Select the “Export Controls” checkbox, then click the Next button.
  5. The “Main Menu” page will load.  Click on the “CITI Export Controls Course” course title. 
  6. On the next screen, accept The Integrity Assurance Statement, and complete the course.
