Office of Admissions - Student Ambassador Tour Guide

The primary responsibility of Student Ambassadors is to represent the «Ƶ while providing clear and accurate information to prospective students and families.  Ambassadors will give one weekly tour, unless otherwise designated.  Tours should be engaging and specific to the needs of visitors, requiring that Ambassadors be flexible, creative, and most importantly passionate about CU. Duties of Student Ambassadors include attending bi-weekly organizational meetings, assisting in campus wide visit programs, and providing exemplary customer service to visitors during their time on campus. Ambassadors must observe professional ethics, including Office of Admissions and «Ƶ policies, codes of conduct, and the Student Ambassador Handbook.

Basic Requirements:
  • Upon acceptance into the organization you are only required to attend one regular, weekly tour day, per week.
    • Weekly tours are held Monday-Friday twice daily, with one in the morning from 10-12 and one in the afternoon from 2-4.
  • Other various "special" tours within the organization are required as Office of Admissions enrollment objectives determine.

We require all applicants selected to interview to attend one 2-hour group interview session. You must stay the entire time.

Yes! Student Ambassadors are employees of CU «Ƶ. Our ambassadors are paid the standard student employement rate of $16/hr.

We ask that each Student Ambassador lead at least one 90 minute tour each week, two Saturday tours per semester, as well as various “special visits!” As an organization, we do hold meetings for training and development, which are also required. The average Student Ambassador commits two to four hours per week to the organization.

While the size of our group fluctuates by year, it is generally between 80-100 students.

YES! We encourage everyone who loves this school to apply. If this is your first student group/activity – no worries.

Unfortunately, we only accept undergraduate students for this position.

Yes, upperclassmen can apply to be an ambassador. Ideally, you would have four on campus semesters to serve as a Student Ambassador (one semester of training and three full semesters of work.) Note that a semester of study abroad would not count as an on-campus semester in this instance. However, we are willing to work with students at any point in their college career to become an ambassador.
