Theatre Scholarships
The theatre division provides students with several scholarship opportunities. Awards are distributed by the theatre faculty at the end of each academic year in the spring.
List of Scholarships
Juliana & Sean Crouch Theatre Scholarship
Provides an annual scholarship award for an in-state undergraduate student studying Theatre with a preference toward financial need in the Theatre & Dance Department at the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ.
David A. Busse Scholarship Fund
Provides scholarships to attract talented people in the area of costume design and construction to both the Department of Theater & Dance and the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. Recipients shall be selected primarily on the basis of scholarship and merit. Consideration of need will be given when selecting among the qualified candidates. The scholarship will be awarded to an eligible student on an annual basis, provided that the recipient has a declared major in theater at the time the scholarship is awarded and expended. The recipient must have completed 29 hours of course work in the College of Arts and Sciences. The recipient takes no fewer than twelve credit hours during the semester in which the scholarship is awarded and expended. Students receiving the scholarship as a sophomore or junior may apply for a renewal their third and/or fourth year. Second and third year awards shall also be predicated on the same condition as the first year award.
Mable Gaiser Borgmann Memorial Scholarship Fund
Benefits theatre students enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences. The recipient shall be an outstanding drama student and/or an outstanding actor or actress.
Riddle Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Theatre
Provides an annual prize to be awarded to an outstanding student actor in a theatre production at the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ. Recipients are chosen solely on the basis of performance. Recipient must be currently enrolled at CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ and may be an undergraduate or graduate student, full or part-time.
Talent & Creativity Scholarships
Awarded to undergraduate majors in both theatre and dance on an annual basis by application. The department awards this scholarship to multiple students based on the amount of service and evidence of involvement in the theatre program. Award amounts vary but typically range between $250 – $1,500.
Patricia Elliott Endowed Scholarship Fund for Theatre
Provides scholarship support to graduate and doctoral students studying theatre in the CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Department of Theatre & Dance.
Theatre Graduate Student Scholarship Fund
Provides graduate student scholarships.
Richard Knaub Memorial Fund
Awarded to the best essay by a theatre graduate student.
