Looking for leadership skills? Apply for CU GOLD’s Core Leadership Program (CLP). CU GOLD is a student-led group on campus that provides an opportunity for CU-ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ students to foster personal development in leadership skills. CLP consists of a leadership retreat Feb. 6-7, weekly seminars devoted to various leadership topics, and a community service project.

Purdue Professor Matthias Steup appointed next chair of CU Philosophy Department

Professor Matthias Steup, the Philosophy Department Head at Purdue University, has been selected to serve as chair of the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Philosophy Department starting this fall. Steven Leigh, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, announced the appointment today after an international search.

Carlos Garcia named associate vice chancellor at UCCS

Carlos Garcia, executive director of the University Memorial Center, has been named Associate Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. He will begin his new position on March 1.

As part of CU-ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ’s commitment to fostering an accessible campus environment, OIT recently licensed SensusAccess, an online service that allows anyone with an @colorado.edu email address to upload a document and have it automatically converted to an accessible document type.

Safety matters: Campus policies regarding hoverboards

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recently initiated an investigation into the fire risks associated with hoverboards. In light of numerous fires associated with hoverboards and the actions being taken by major retailers and airlines, hoverboards are not permitted in CU-ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ residence halls or Graduate and Family Housing. The new policy took effect on Jan. 1.

Opening Jan. 7, new garage to add 555 campus parking spots

A brand new parking garage will open off Stadium Drive on Jan. 7, 2016. The three-level, covered facility, called Folsom Garage, will accommodate 555 vehicles. It is located underneath the new Indoor Practice Facility, part of the Athletics expansion.
