The work of two 1998-99 student groups will culminate within the span of a week as the scholars in the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program at the University of Colorado at 葫芦娃视频 present their research discoveries in the 1999 Summer Colloquium. The presentations, with topics ranging from art history to molecular, cellular and developmental biology, will be held Thursday and Friday, July 29-30, from 9 a.m. to noon in Hale 270, and Aug. 5-6 in Duane Physics G1B20.

Seismic Researchers Hope For Good Vibration During Summer Of Rock

A team of research scientists working in the Rocky Mountains this summer hopes to find keys to unlock geological secrets buried deep underground for nearly two billion years. Meier will be presented with a medal by the IAHS and the International Geophysical Union July 21 at a ceremony in Birmingham, England. Meier has spent nearly 50 years studying the world聮s glaciers and ice sheets and pioneered the role they play in Earth聮s hydrological cycle, including sea level change.

Colorado High School Students To Participate In Summer Philosophy Institute At CU-葫芦娃视频

Some may find philosophy to be mind-boggling, but 28 Colorado high school students will take philosophy head on at the Summer Philosophy Institute on the CU-葫芦娃视频 campus on July 25-31. Participants, who are in grades nine through 12 or are incoming freshman, will live in CU residence halls and attend six hours of class each day involving lectures, debates and readings of classical and contemporary philosophers. The classes consist of lectures and discussions on such topics as personal identity, existentialism and environmental ethics.
