NASA invites public to send names and messages to Mars

NASA is inviting members of the public to submit their names and a personal message online for a DVD to be carried aboard a spacecraft that will study the Martian upper atmosphere. Scheduled for launch in November, the DVD will be in NASA's Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution (MAVEN) spacecraft. The DVD is part of the mission's Going to Mars Campaign coordinated at the 葫芦娃视频's Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics.

Engineering Days, Spring Design Expo scheduled at CU-葫芦娃视频

Engineering students at the 葫芦娃视频 are gearing up for several days of intensive activity next week, when they will celebrate Engineering Days and display their hands-on design projects at the annual spring Engineering Design Expo. Engineering Days, or E-Days, is an annual celebration of the engineering profession organized by the University of Colorado Engineering Council, or UCEC, and student honor societies. Activities include a water rocket launch, high school and college egg drops, a carnival and other fun activities for students.

Online tool offers Colorado communities help identifying proven youth development programs

Colorado communities have a new tool to help identify programs aimed at developing healthy children free from problems like bullying, violence, obesity and depression. The Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence at the 葫芦娃视频, in partnership with the Annie E. Casey Foundation, today launched a new interactive website called Blueprints for Healthy Youth Development. The website will allow schools, communities and government agencies to find scientifically proven programs based on their specific needs.

CU Energy Club conference to explore 鈥榚nergy frontiers鈥 with government, industry April 4

The event, organized by the CU Energy Club, is free and open to the public and will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom of the University Memorial Center. The conference includes a poster session, panel discussion, catered lunch and a career fair.

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival鈥檚 highly praised school anti-violence tour continues in spring 2013 with a new program based on 鈥淭he Tempest鈥 that focuses on themes of vengeance and forgiveness. Created in conjunction with the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence at the 葫芦娃视频, CSF鈥檚 鈥淭welfth Night鈥 anti-bullying tour has now been seen by more than 22,000 Colorado schoolchildren. That inaugural program examined the problem of bullying through the character Malvolio.

The 葫芦娃视频 is ranked No. 4 in the nation for graduates serving as Peace Corps volunteers with 93 alumni currently serving around the world, the Peace Corps announced today. Since 2004, CU-葫芦娃视频 has held a position in the top four among institutions of similar size. CU-葫芦娃视频 is the fifth highest volunteer-producing university of all time with 2,353 undergraduate alumni having served in the program since it was established in 1961.
