The Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering (CEAE) at CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ is committed to fostering inclusive excellence, increasing diversity and equity, and providing a welcoming departmental community that fosters a sense of belonging, engagement with diverse perspectives, and success for students, staff, and faculty. CEAE will actualize inclusive excellence utilizing the following priorities to guide our values and practices:

  • We value diverse perspectives and encourage and respectful communication. We welcome feedback from all community members with suggestions for continuous improvement; 

  • We strive to build respectful and inclusive relationships among all members of our community (students, staff, faculty, alumni, and other stakeholders) to advance the mission of the Department;

  • We aim to equitably recruit, retain, and support students, staff, and faculty; 

  • We hold all members of our department accountable for facilitating a welcoming, inclusive departmental community;

  • We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment at any level of our department community;

  • We value transparency within our community about our policies and decision-making processes;

  • We seek timely solutions and resolution to any and all actions of disrespect;

  • We strive to integrate Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusive (JEDI) topics in educational and research activities.

We recognize that all members of our community are responsible for our conduct and interactions with each other.
