UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS:Ìý Engineering students should use this form to change your major (from one Engineering BS program to another), or to add or remove a second (Engineering BS) major. Biomedical Engineering majors can also use this form to add/change a Pre-Medical Track, and Integrated Design Engineering majors can use this form to add/change a Disciplinary Emphasis and/or Concentration.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS:Ìý Students should use this form to add or remove an engineering or computer science minor.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS: ÌýEngineering students should use this form when a professor agrees to give you a temporary Incomplete grade, detailing what needs to be completed for the course and by when.ÌýIncomplete grades are given only when students, for documented reasons beyond their control, are unable to complete course requirements.ÌýA substantial amount of work must have been satisfactorily completed before approval for such a grade is given.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS:Ìý Use this form when a professor is sponsoring your Independent Study, detailing what needs to be done by when for how many credit hours.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS: ÌýEngineering students should use this form when you want to request an exception to department/program and/or college policies and practices.Ìý Students submitting petitions should allow 3 business days for each party needing to review/sign off on the petition.Ìý Petitions that only need department/program review may sometimes need more time if a curriculum or undergraduate committee needs to review the request.Ìý Petitions for Humanities/Social Sciences/Writing requirements are vetted by the department/program, the HSS/Writing faculty advisor, and the engineering dean’s office.Ìý Students should plan accordingly.
Examples of when petitions are required include (but are not limited to):
- Requests for course substitutions for a major, minor, or certificate
- Approving a non-CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ course to transfer in and apply towards degree requirements in a specific way
- Requesting exceptions to course pre-requisite or co-requisite requirements
- Allowing a lower-than-required grade for a course to stand without having to repeat it
- Allowing courses older than 10 years to apply towards degree requirements
- Taking a class on NC grading basis (No Credit, also known as formally auditing a class)
- Enrolling in a course overload (more credit hours than are typically allowed in a given term)
- Enrolling in a course for the degree (or equivalent) more than 3 times
- Requesting an exception to the CEAS 45-hour residency requirement (that last 45 hours earned for the degree is CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ coursework only)
- Requesting to drop a class after the 10-week final drop deadline each semester (or prorated summer session deadline)
