The Fire System group oversees fire alarms, including the inspection, installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of building fire alarm system components (smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations, notification systems, annunciation devices, and campus fire alarm network) as well as building water base fire sprinkler systems (sprinkler heads, control valves, dry pipe systems, pre-action systems, stand pipe systems, piping and fire department connections, fire sprinkler back flow devices, and code compliance inspections).

How to Request Service
In an emergency, dial 911 or use a red pull station. For other alarm-related issues, complete a Service Request or contact the Service Center at 303-492-5522.
Assistance with campus building security systems, including, keys, electronic card readers, and campus surveillance systems. Please note that the CU Police Department oversees locking and unlocking buildings; visit Access to Facilities for more info.
How to Request  Service

Keys: In order to receive a non-housing university key you must have an active Buff OneCard, Departmental Card, or Guest Card. You will then need to get approval from your Key Liaison. To find out who your Key Liaison is, contact Access Services at 303-492-6609. The form, along with your Buff OneCard or other card, must be taken to Access Services (lower level of Folsom Stadium, Gate 8, Rm.1B11), in order to have your key issued.

Electronic Card Readers:  To receive off-hours building access with your Buff OneCard, complete a Service Request or contact the Service Center at 303-492-5522.

Campus Surveillance Systems: To receive a quote on surveillance system hardware, installation, and training, complete a Service Request or contact the Service Center at 303-492-5522.

Colorado state laws assign responsibility for overseeing construction activities to the Office of the State Architect, which in turn delegates this responsibility to CU-ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ with regards to campus construction. As a result, all construction work on campus is required to undergo a process that includes plan review, permitting and inspection. Consulting with  at the onset of a project affords more opportunity for creative and cost-effective solutions that promote a safe built environment that protects life, health and property.
