Student Organizations
Society of Physics Students (SPS)
The Society of Physics Students (SPS) is a student organization open to all Physics, Engineering Physics, and Astronomy/Astrophysics majors and minors. We meet Wednesdays at 6 p.m. during the semester in the 11th floor Commons Room in Duane to discuss physics and life, relax, enjoy some pizza, and take in the breathtaking view of the flatirons. Come join us!
CU-Prime
CU-Prime is a student-driven effort led by grad and undergrad students in the Physics Department at the ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ. Our goal is to increase inclusion in Physics/STEM fields, especially among traditionally underrepresented groups, through mentorship and community building.
Undergraduate Women and Gender Minorities in Physics
Undergraduate Women and Gender Minorities in Physics (uWaGMiP) is a community of undergraduate students working to promote the success of traditionally underrepresented genders in the physics community. We work to provide mentorship, opportunities for involvement in the CU Physics department, and a supportive environment in which we can all grow and learn! We offer monthly events ranging from discussions on finding undergraduate research and applying to graduate school, to movie and game nights. Contact uwagmip@colorado.edu for more information.
COSMOS
(Community of Support for Marginalized Students) is a student organization aimed towards helping underrepresented minorities here in the Physics, Engineering Physics, and Astrophysics Department at CU ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ. We are here to provide the necessary resources for students of color to be successful in earning any degree they are currently working towards. To be more specific, we will be sharing scholarship information, graduate/postdoc preparation seminars, community service opportunities, study groups and much more! If you are interested in joining our group, follow us on social media (Twittter - , Instagram - @cuboulder_cosmos)!
