CU-ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Law Students Name Wilkinson For Teaching Excellence

Professor Charles Wilkinson of the University of Colorado at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ School of Law has been named the 1996-97 Teaching Excellence Award winner by a vote of law school students. The award, which has been given to top teaching faculty for the past eight years, carries a $1,000 stipend from the Student Bar Association and the DeanÂ’s Fund for Excellence.

Hammond Receives Award For Book On Judgment

Lamar will host an exhibit on Greek culture of more than 9,000 years ago as part of the CU This Summer cultural outreach program of the University of Colorado at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ. The exhibit, “Chaeroneia: 6000 Years B.C.,” will be May 24 through Sept. 1 at the Lamar Public Library, 104 Parmenter St. Exhibit hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free. The local sponsors are KLMR/KSEC Radio, the Lamar Daily News and the Friends of the Library.

The exhibit, “Exploring Our Place in Nature,” will be shown from June 5 through Sept. 7 in the Estes Park Conference Center, sponsor of the exhibit, at 201 South St. Vrain. Burlington will host an exhibit of graphic art prints depicting work scenes as part of the CU This Summer cultural outreach program from the University of Colorado at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ. The exhibit, “By the Sweat of Your Brow: Images of Work,” will be shown from May 24 through Sept. 1 in Old Town Museum, the local sponsor, at 420 S. 14th St. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for youngsters ages 12 to 18 and $2 for ages three through 11.

Photographer Fran Hall, now in his eighties, will give a free public talk about his work on Sunday, June 8, at 4 p.m. in the Adams County Museum.

The ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Chapter of the University of Colorado Alumni Association will award three $2,500 scholarships to ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ area high school seniors and the annual Community Service Award to Cliff Meely, former CU basketball star, at a reception May 7. The Dollars for Scholars reception will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Koenig Alumni Center and is open to all ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ area CU alumni. Admission is free.

CU-ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Singers To Perform Children's Opera In Pueblo May 19-24

Pueblo will host a week-long series of performances of two childrenÂ’s operas as part of the CU This Summer cultural outreach program of the University of Colorado at ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ. The CU-ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ Lyric Theatre for Children will perform “Little Red Riding Hood” by Seymour Barab and “Hansel and Gretel” by Engelbert Humperdinck in Pueblo area schools from May 19 through May 24.
