Entrance Programs After Accepting Admission

Once you have accepted your offer of admittance to ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ, you will attend New Student Advising in the late spring or the summer before Autumn Quarter, and Orientation in the days prior to the beginning of the academic year. Both events are required and provide you with the essential information for a successful transition to University life.

New Student Advising

All new undergraduate students, including transfer students, receive initial advising and register for classes as part of New Student Advising before the first quarter of matriculation.

This is a half-day program that gives you the opportunity to confer with an advisor about the selection of classes, as well as register for classes and make financial arrangements.

Once you have completed the program, you will be prepared to go through Orientation in the autumn.

Students who enter ºù«ÍÞÊÓƵ in Winter Quarter or Spring Quarter, or during the Summer Sessions, meet individually with an undergraduate academic counselor to select and register for their first quarter of classes.

Orientation

Autumn Quarter Orientation includes four days of orientation to the academic and social community of SPU. Brief orientation sessions are offered Winter Quarter and Spring Quarter.

All these sessions are designed to help you prepare for the academic, spiritual, and social life at SPU. They also offer opportunities for you to become better acquainted with the University and its programs of study, and to meet faculty and classmates.
