Peace, Conflict, and Security
PACS
The Peace, Conflict, and Security Certificate (PACS) is an interdisciplinary field, focused on advancing our understanding of conflict dynamics and improving our ability to wisely, equitably, and efficiently handle conflict. This certificate program empowers students by teaching them sophisticated advocacy, collaboration, and peacebuilding skills that are essential to solving today's big problems.
PACS offers an individually tailored program of study that provides students with 1) the ability to more constructively handle conflict in family, workplace, and community settings, 2) a foundation for peace-and conflict-related careers, and 3) a better understanding of public policy controversies.
Up to 12 credits of the PACS courses overlap with IAFS requirements for both the Major and Minor!. See which specific courses count towards the various requirements on the PACS Courses page.
