Fire Limiting Aerial Management Ensemble (FLAME)
Project Topic: Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for Fire Mitigation
Description: The FLAME team aims to design, build and test an unmanned aerial system (UAS) that can autonomously navigate to and deliver fire retardant to targeted areas, thereby slowing the spread of wildfires and enhancing safety without putting human lives at risk. The system will be able to autonomously take off, land, and navigate to precise locations while carrying the fire retardant. The UAS ultimately aims to help combat wildfire threats, particularly in high-risk areas like the Front Range in Colorado.
